N.B. GearTronic identifies the gear by calculating the ratio between speed and engine revs. The device therefore does not display the gears when the
vehicle is switched off and any clutch operation could indicate an incorrect gear.
The main unit must be positioned so that it can be clearly seen.
Once the ideal position has been found the unit can be fitted using the special adhesive material supplied in the box.
The GearTronic cable has 5 wires, positive under key (RED), negative (BROWN), odometer (GREEN), rev counter (BLUE) and
calibration (WHITE).
ISOLATE THE WHITE WIRE UNTIL THE MOMENT OF CALIBRATION.
The RED wire must be connected to the positive “UNDER KEY” that is to say at
the point where the electrical supply arrives (from 7 to 18 Volts) only when the
motorbike key is in the ON position whilst the brown wire must be earthed.
At this point identify the engine revs and odometer connections, and connect the BLUE and GREEN wires respectively. On the reverse of
this page you will find the colour of the wires used by the most common motorbikes where GearTronic can be connected. The WHITE
calibration wire must always be well isolated except during the set up phase of the unit.
