X-701 is the full-face helmet with a composite fibre shell. It is characterized by an innovative and striking design (particularly set off by a rear stabilizing spoiler) that is a perfect blend of functionality and comfort so as to meet the needs of the most demanding motorcycle rider. It is a result of X-lite® technology research and has undergone numerous aerodynamic tests both in the laboratory and the track. It is also ready for the N-Com® X-Series communication system.
01 - TRIPLE SHELL
X-701 is available in three different external shell sizes (XS/S, M/L, XL/XXL) to ensure levels of comfort otherwise hard to achieve. Furthermore, in this way, the weight and volume of the helmet (and hence its aerodynamic resistance) are kept to a minimum, proportioned to the rider’s size.
02 - REMOVABLE COMFORT PADDING
X-701 padding features an exclusive material called UNITHERM LIGHT, made of elasticised microfibre, which actively regulates breathability, so as to provide the rider with a high degree of comfort in all situations where it is used. Moreover, the new liner configuration - which has been lightened next to the inner system of air ducts - ensures an optimum flow of air inside the helmet. The liner is completely removable and washable; it ensures superior hygiene and freshness while preventing the development of unpleasant odours over long periods.
03 - VISOR AND ROTATION MECHANISMS
Moulded in SABIC Innovative Plastics (former General Electric Plastics) Lexan® OQ the visor is scratch-resistant and has a curved surface. Moreover, as a standard feature, it is already set for the Nolan Fog Resistant system attachment.
The light and sturdy side mechanisms allow up and down visor rotation with intermediate positions, rapid opening of the visor without the need for special implements and adjustment of the air draught (4 mm) between the visor and the trims. The new DOUBLE ACTION device allows the following two functions:
A visor demisting, at low speeds or during stops, by a minimum visor opening;
B visor lock, to avoid accidental visor opening, especially at high speeds.
04 - VENTILATION
X-701 also stands out due to its innovative ventilation system: a result of the experience X-lite® riders have gained in the toughest races. It consists of:
A lower ventilation. The lower air intake offers 2-position adjustment: in the first position, incoming air is directed straight onto the visor and in front of the rider’s mouth; in the second position, the air flow is conveyed onto the visor, thus reducing fogging;
B front ventilation. The front air intake, located above the visor, allows a change of air in the inner front area of the helmet;
C top ventilation. The top ventilation system has two independently activated air intakes that allow air to enter inside the top of the helmet. The channel of the inner shell allows distribution of air inside the helmet, while the rear air extractors - built into the rear stabilising spoiler - allow warm and stale air to flow out, ensuring a constant change of air.
