Vanavond the motorcycle diaries

en als je kijkt, let dan op de volgende foutjes:

* Anachronisms: At the end of the movie, when Che is at the airport, a yellow GMC pickup drives by. The pickup has a 1-piece windshield; GMC did not introduce the 1-piece windshield until a few years after 1952).

* Continuity: When Ernesto is sitting on the boat to San Pablo, he is writing in a notebook with a pencil, but when he gets up to look for his bag, the notebook and pencil are gone.

* Revealing mistakes: The scene where they fall off the motorcycle and the hit the cow/ you can see the motorcycle slide. If you look closely you can see a rope or cable pulling it.

* Anachronisms: The movie is set in the early 1950s. However, when Ernesto and Alberto arrive to the port of Valparaiso, Chile, a blue floating dry-dock (the "Valparaiso III", owned by SOCIBER) is visible on the bay. That wasn't commissioned there until 1985.

* Audio/visual unsynchronized: At Macchu Pichu, at the site of the Inti Huatana (Hitching Post of the Sun) the sundial was damaged when a crane fell on it in 2000, breaking a piece off which can be seen on the scene. The sundial was perfect back when Che Guevara was there. They could have fixed that shot with computer graphics or just taking a different shot.

* Continuity: In the scene where Ernesto and Alberto are leaving the steamer boat on the smaller boat the prostitute's shoulder (recognisable by clothing in previous scene) is visible in front of Alberto. When the boat lands and the camera goes to a wide shot on the boat the prostitute is not on the boat.

* Errors in geography: When they are in the Amazonas, they talk about going to La Guajira in Venezuala. La Guajira is a departamento (State/province) of Colombia.

Erg leuk, maar het gaat natuurlijk meer over Che dan over motoren ;).

Al heeft ik em wel op DVD liggen :).
