Routes near Rotterdam

Hello everyone,

I recently moved to the Netherlands.
I'm looking for nice routes out and around Rotterdam, for quick 2-3 hour ride. This has probably been discussed here before, but I can't really find the thread.

Can someone point a couple of nice roads to ride, or maybe the link if there's another thread on the topic.

Welcome on MF! 3 hours from Rotterdam, that is about half the country

You can find quite some routes on Motoplus.nl, about half of them show up when you hover over them.
Also, TomTom has routes, where you can browse through. I don't have ready routes myself, but areas near Rotterdam that can be nice are:
- Harbour routes, possibly include a visit to Futureland and the Maeslantkering
- Hoeksche Waard,
- Kinderdijk / Alblasserwaard,
- Biesbosch,
- Groene hart (the triangle between A12, A4 and A2 motorways)
- Zeeland,
- Bollenstreek (especially around May when the flowers are in bloom),

If you use any of these terms, combined with motorroute, you will probably find a bunch of each.

Without any lead you can drive around Monster, Nieuwkoop, Gouda. Just by ignoring te main roads we make nice trips without any navigation systems. Half an hour down the A12 brings you to the Utrechtse Heuvelrug. Very nice also.

You should also consider checking the regional section here on M-F. You will find several groups there, who organise rides in the region.
Or find guy's there willing to show you nice routes around Rotterdam. I live just south of Rotterdam, Hoeksche Waard. Many nice roads to ride there, but also Voorne-Putten is nice to combine with the Hoeksche Waard, and then continue riding into Zeeland.
