For those of you who don’t know how the diecast business works, I must stress that, in most cases, we simply don’t have any more information than appears above about when your model or models are going to turn up.
That’s not because we don’t care. Nor is it because we’re incompetent or ineffectual.
The reality is that the diecast manufacturers provide very little information about delivery timings. And actually, when they do give out information, it tends to be inaccurate, anyway!
All I can ask is that you hang on in there. Obviously, we haven’t charged you for your purchase, and we won’t do so until your goods have been despatched.
And, of course, with most of the brands of diecast we sell, we offer our double moneyback guarantee if we fail to deliver a new model when it gets released.
We realise that waiting for a model to turn up can be frustrating, but we would ask you to understand that we are very much in the hands of the diecast manufacturers.
The instant your model turns up in the UK, however, we’ll send it straight out to you. That much I can promise you.
Anyway, if your interest in the diecast business extends only to the goods you have on order, I suggest you read no further because I’m now going to waffle on for a bit about the latest diecast news, gossip and so on.
Valentino Rossi
Valentino’s recent enforced holiday hasn’t changed his standing as far as the diecast community is concerned. In fact, quite the contrary.
His Catalunya bike was sold out way before it was released, and it’s looking like his 2009 special from Estoril will go the same way, even though it’s still some way off.
The importer has already frozen all orders for this bike, so retailers cannot acquire any more pieces. As I write this, we still have some spare inventory that we haven’t sold through to customers yet, but well before the bike is released that situation will change. No doubt about it.
On a similar subject, a week or so ago, we were supposed to take delivery of Valentino’s 2009 Fiat bike. But, at the last minute, the delivery was postponed. Apparently, there have been some manufacturing delays in China and the bike may still be three months away.
The good news for Rossi collectors is that, at Laguna Seca a few weeks ago, Valentino rode a special ‘500 Faces’ bike. It’s a long way off, for sure, but we’re mighty relieved. If Valentino had been off for the rest of the season, we wouldn’t have had a special bike at all! You’ll find the code and details on the website, as usual.
Of course, it looks like he’ll be at Ducati next year, which we think is good news. The truth is we’re getting a bit bored of blue and white Fiat Yamaha bikes. We’re hoping there’ll be more unique paint jobs at Ducati. We also believe there may be a chance that Minichamps will be able to make his test bikes again. We’ll keep our fingers crossed.

As you might expect, we’re always trying to anticipate what the next big thing will be in the diecast world.
Sometimes, we don’t anticipate the next big thing, we actually attempt to create it.
After all, we did get Minichamps into bikes in the first place. It was also we who came up with the idea of Rossi figurines.
In fact, I remember telling Minichamps that, in order for the figures to sell, the price would need to be less than £10! Seems like another world, especially given that the latest Rossi figure is priced at ninety quid, although in fairness it does include a man in a chicken suit!
Anyway, all this is a roundabout way of saying that we think that Jorge Lorenzo will be the next big thing in the diecast world.
He’s going to be the 2010 Moto GP world champion, although on its own that doesn’t mean too much. Let’s face it, Nicky Hayden and Casey Stoner didn’t become massively popular with collectors just because they won the title.
But Jorge is a chip off the old block. He is already starting to out-Rossi Valentino; what with his swimming exploits, space suits and so on.
What excites us most, however, is that unlike Valentino, Jorge will sign models for us.

nee,die raak je nog wel kwijt,duurt even,de markt is rustig op het moment,ik heb nu 3 vrij zeldzame modellen te koop voor redelijke prijzen,en ik word ze ook nog niet kwijt.Vorig jaar nog een Kato 2003 verkocht voor 125 euro,nu staat hij op 70 euro en ik raak hem niet kwijt,haha

simpel gezegd waren het allemaal op 1 na(testbike 2004) re-releases of modellen die niets bijzonders zijn.

van de week de troy corser 1999 binnen gekregen,en ja hoor het bekende euvel van de eerste ducati`s viel gelijk op!
de rechter clipon was afgebroken.
foto`s gemaakt en naar de verkoper gemaild.
ook zat er aan de linkerkant geen kabel aan de koppelingshendel.
verkoper vond het JAMMER MAAR HELAAS, maar heeft netjes al het geld terug gestort.
toch netjes van hem,voor hetzelfde geld had het een WELLES /NIETES VERHAAL GEWORDEN.
de rechter clipon was afgebroken.
